A medical exemption under Florida Statutes §316.2954is a physician-certified document that permits you to apply darker window tint than what §316.2953 normally allows. A licensed Florida physician must certify that your medical condition requires enhanced UV or light protection while driving.
Without an exemption, Florida law restricts front side windows to 28% VLT and back side windows to 15% VLT for sedans. With an approved exemption, you can legally go darker on all applicable windows.
